Every where I have touched down in the past few days all I hear is the Google phone. “I’m gonna get the G1!” “Have you heard about the Google Phone coming out?” Google this….Google that. Well it has got my attention and now I want to put you on to game.
The device called the the G1 Google Phone is being brought to life through T-Mobile. The date to circle is October 22nd which falls on a Wednesday. The ticket is $179. Yes that is $20 cheaper then your Iphone. Allow me to tech the phone out for you. The G1 has a:
- 3.2-inch 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution capacitive touchscreen, a
- flip-out full QWERTY keyboard,
- dual-band UMTS HSPA, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
- 3.2-megapixel fixed-focus camera, microSD slot (with a 1GB card provided and up to 8GB supported)
- trackball for navigation
The G1 settings menu doesn’t seem to different from other devices. The items listed are Wireless, Call, Sounds & Display, Data Synchronization, Security & Location, applications, SD Card & Storage, Date & Time, Text and About Phone. The wireless section has options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Mobile Network. Everything that your average celly is equipped with. The G1 is powered by the technology of Android. Android-powered phones can run multiple applications, all at once, and switch effortlessly between them. Notifications alert you when applications running in the background require your attention.
Well on the flip side the talk is of the data plan. Every cell company has an unlimited plan but the problem is for those that get excessive with their airtime. The G1 mindset was to set the cap at 1GB and anything afterwards would dramatically drop you down to 50 kbps. After thorough reading of the fine print this was discovered. The plan becomes really lame considering they boast the $25 dollar unlimited plan. That is like going to an all you can eat buffet and after the 4th plate a mysterious lady tells you to fall back. YOUR EATING TOO MUCH!!! WTF? Either its all you can eat or its not. Same rules apply here. Unlimited or unlimited to a certain point. Suspect!! T-Mobile will have to tighten up before the drop date for sure.

I’m going to get this phone. I’m a LOYAL T-Mobile customer…
