Back in the mid 90’s The Juggaknots had a major recording contract with EastWest / Elecktra Records which never released their material. During that time, Bobbito would invite them to WKCR’s Stretch and Bobbito Radio Show…one of their songs ‘Clear Blue Skies’ was one of the show’s most requested joints. In case you never heard, the song explores racism in a clever scenario that revolves around a father and son. The father disapproves of his white son’s interracial relationship with a black female and eventually kicks him out of the house. Thankfully, instead of letting fresh music sit on the shelf Bobbito released the song threw his Fondle Em Record label around 96-97.
Fans had to wait until 2003 before the Juggaknots actually released a full length album, and it would be 10 years later before a video was ever made for the song.
Shout out to the homies Wiseguy and Gaston (Twin Brothers) in NYC for hooking up the video. In case you dont know Wise and Gas, these dudes are Hip Hop Historians in New York City, they have tons of video footage from ciphers, open mics, live shows, and who knows how many radio shows they have archived. They also play host from time to time at venues like The Newyoricans Poets Cafe, Etc.
